It was bitterly cold in New York on Wednesday evening but I’m glad I braved the elements to go to the Curl Power Celebration event because I had an absolute blast.

I didn’t get to the event as early as I anticipated so I joined the end of the line and made a couple new curlfriends as I shifted back and forth to keep warm while waiting in line.

Despite waiting in line for thirty minutes and combating frozen toes my spirits were still high and I was excited to mingle.  After checking my coat and making my way up the stairs I saw this lovely sight.

The drinks and positive vibes were flowing and good music was playing.  Marsha Ambrosius, Curly Nikki and the Dark and Lovely director of education stepped on stage to say a few words.

After watching a short Dark and Lovely Au Naturale promotional clip I started to circulating around the room to document the night.

The music was great, I ran into old curlfriends and met new ones and the vibe was phenomenal.  I really enjoyed myself and I can’t wait until the next natural hair event.
