I was sitting around my apartment craving a savory treat, but I didn’t have anything in my cupboards. I remembered a few months ago when I was shopping in Trader Joe’s I overheard one of the employees talking about how he made kale chips. I had kale, olive oil and salt, so I decided to give it a go and I’m so glad I did. The chips were delicious and nutritious. It was my first time making them, so I did overcook a few, but I’m definitely going to have kale on hand from now on to make this yummy snack.
Ingredients
- 1 bunch kale
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon seasoned salt
Directions
- Preheat an oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Line a non insulated cookie sheet with parchment paper.
- With a knife or kitchen shears carefully remove the leaves from the thick stems and tear into bite size pieces. Wash and thoroughly dry kale with a salad spinner. Drizzle kale with olive oil and sprinkle with seasoning salt.
- Bake until the edges brown but are not burnt, 10 to 15 minutes.

Wanted to make some kale chips and decided to do a quick wordpress search. These sound great… thanks
They are great!! I’ve made kale chips several times since posting this recipe and I’ve found that you get crispier chips if you toss the kale with a little olive oil rather than drizzling it over the kale on the baking sheet.
They were perfect! I read a few different posts and decided to toss them in olive oil first, and I added truffle salt. They were perfectly crispy! I wasn’t sure how to store them… but it turns out I didn’t need to
Thanks so much!
