As promised, I have photos and a brief recap of the Naturallycurly.com Curls Unleashed launch party here in NYC.

Since becoming natural I haven’t been to any natural hair meetups.  I always seemed to find out too late to r.s.v.p., had a scheduling conflict or I’d find out about the event after it was over, but not this time.

Event Recap

I had somewhat of an idea of what to expect at this event from footage I’ve seen of previous natural hair events, but I wasn’t completely sure what to expect.  The event ended up being a natural hair mixer.

We mingled for about an hour or so and then Taren came on to greet everyone at about 8:00.  Next, there was a brief Curls Unleashed presentation and after the presentation finished they invited everyone to take a look at the products.  I passed on that portion of the evening because the table was located in a very confined space and many people were interested in seeing the products.

I circled the room a few more times, snapped some photos, said my goodbyes, got my gift bag and left.

Overall it was a nice night.  It would have been nicer if there were more tables or even vendors present, but it’s always a good time when I get to chat with other naturals.
